Shizuoka prefecture is known for unagi. Sakuraya 桜家 has been serving unagi since 1856. The unajyu is an eel, grilled, and seasoned in a not too candy soy sauce over a mattress of rice. A giant distinction from the Tokyo sweeter soy sauce.
It’s a preferred restaurant, so finest to have reservations. We known as forward to make reservations and had been suggested to reach by a sure time as they wanted to shut for an hour to organize charcoal for dinner service. Fortunately we made it in time. We spent a part of the afternoon at Mishima Skywalk. It’s Japan’s longest suspension pedestrian bridge at 400 meters.

We simply caught a fading Fuji san because the clouds rolled in. Can you notice it within the picture?
