Spring break in Tohoku. We began in Aomori. Dinner at this very cool izakaya known as Joppari. One wall is lined with sake. Diners sit round a c-shaped counter.
The menu has plenty of images and options native Tohoku dishes together with harako meshi of salmon and ikura over rice, tsukemono pickles, kara agé fried hen, scallops with eggs cooked on a scallop shell, and extra.
The pickles got here with tags naming the varieties of tsukemono.
There’s a stay Tsugaru shamisen efficiency at 7:00 p.m. so be sure you arrive earlier than that. It’s a smaller restaurant so I like to recommend reservations. The constructing exterior is adorned with the realm’s well-known nebuta three-dimensional faces.
Workers very pleasant and it will likely be a memorable evening of your travels in Tohoku. When you go to Aomori be sure you make time to go to the Warasse Nebuta Museum to see the spectacular floats.
